Chico Open Studios 2026 | Kevin Trivedi at ArtistScape

Expressive painting of a blue electric guitar and a yellow-orange acoustic guitar resting inside a colorful interior, surrounded by gestural green, blue, yellow, orange, and violet brushstrokes. The painting belongs to Trivedi’s Catalyst series, an evolving body of work examining music, vibration, time, energy, and transcendence through expressive and semi-abstract imagery. Loosely articulated architecture and layered brushwork allow the scene to move between observation and sensation, suggesting the way music can alter perception and transform an ordinary environment into an emotional or psychological space.
Color Harmonies explores the relationship between music, color, rhythm, and atmosphere through an expressive interior scene featuring electric and acoustic guitars. Layers of saturated color, gestural brushwork, and shifting spatial relationships transform the instruments and surrounding environment into a visual arrangement of rhythm and tonal contrast.

One More Weekend! Chico Open Studios 2026 at ArtistScape

October 17–18, 2026 | 10 AM–5 PM

There’s still one more weekend to experience Chico Open Studios 2026, and you’re invited to visit ArtistScape Fine Art & Creative Services for a behind-the-scenes look at the creative world of Chico artist Kevin Trivedi.

Open Studios offers a unique opportunity to experience original artwork in the environment where it is created, discover the inspiration behind each painting, and connect directly with the artist.

Two Collections, Two Artistic Journeys

This year’s Open Studios features two distinctive bodies of work that explore transformation, emotion, and the expressive possibilities of painting.

"Looking Inward," a 30"x40" painting by Kevin Trivedi, features Chloe Juniper as the model, symbolizing their creative collaboration. The artwork blends Trivedi’s signature landscapes with Juniper’s graceful presence, reflecting their artistic synergy and deep connection. This piece marks a significant evolution in Trivedi’s work, highlighting the influence of friendship and collaboration on artistic expression.
Looking Inward

Synthesis: States of Becoming is a collection of twelve large-scale figurative paintings exploring identity, transformation, and our relationship with the world around us. Through expressive color, symbolism, and visual storytelling, the series invites viewers to consider the many dimensions of the human experience.

Expressive acrylic painting of guitars, brass instruments, percussion, and a violin arranged together against a rich green and blue background, painted in vivid orange, red, yellow, and blue tones with loose, energetic brushwork.
Musical Inertia is an 8 × 10 inch acrylic painting on paper from Kevin Trivedi’s Catalyst series. A gathering of guitars, brass, strings, and percussion rests in a moment of suspended energy, suggesting the tension between stillness and the possibility of sound. Expressive brushwork, layered color, and overlapping forms create a rhythmic composition charged with movement and anticipation.

Catalyst, Kevin’s newest evolving series, explores the relationship between music, movement, energy, and artistic expression. Featuring vibrant colors, dynamic brushwork, and increasingly abstract compositions, these paintings capture the rhythms and emotional resonance of the creative process.

Together, these collections offer visitors a glimpse into an artistic practice that continues to evolve through experimentation, observation, and discovery.

Enlightenment – The Sixth Painting in the Synthesis Series

30″x40″ Acrylic on Canvas

= A surreal painting of a woman standing before a glowing rectangular portal at night, wearing a long flowing blue dress that blends with the cosmic sky. Her back is turned to the viewer, and she holds a burning umbrella above her head. The background features a deep purple and blue night sky, filled with stars and swirling clouds. The scene evokes a sense of mystery, transformation, and connection between humanity and the universe.
Enlightenment

Step into a realm where the boundaries between the earthly and the infinite dissolve before your eyes. In this captivating 30”x40” acrylic masterpiece, a solitary woman stands poised before a glowing portal—a gateway to both mystery and revelation. Her dress, flowing and patterned like the expansive night sky, mirrors the celestial wonder that surrounds her. Above her, an umbrella burns with an almost mystical intensity, its flames serving as a symbol of illumination, transformation, and the perpetual act of questioning what lies beyond the familiar.

Every element in “Enlightenment” is meticulously designed to evoke both awe and introspection. The burning umbrella, far from a mere object, challenges the conventions of the everyday, suggesting that even the most mundane aspects of life can be catalysts for profound change. The glowing portal not only invites the viewer to look deeper into the painting’s layered narrative but also acts as a metaphor for the journeys we all undertake in search of knowledge and self-discovery. The vast, starlit sky above creates a reflective surface—a mirror of our inner universe—beckoning us to explore the uncharted territories of our own consciousness.

This piece is an exploration of the connection between humanity and the infinite. With each brushstroke, the artist captures the delicate balance between darkness and light, uncertainty and clarity. The work speaks to the transformative power of art, drawing the viewer into a dialogue about the nature of existence and the ever-present potential for renewal. Whether interpreted as a personal odyssey or a cosmic commentary, “Enlightenment” offers a visual narrative that resonates on both an emotional and intellectual level.

We invite you to experience this extraordinary piece for yourself. This painting is available now—send a DM on social media or fill out our email form to make it a part of your collection.

Part of Kevin Trivedi’s Synthesis series, Enlightenment explores the boundless connection between humanity and nature, with the sky serving as the elemental force in this composition. The juxtaposition of the serene and the surreal invites contemplation: Is she stepping into the unknown, or does she carry the universe within her?

This evocative piece speaks to seekers, dreamers, and those who find beauty in the in-between spaces of existence. Own a glimpse into the sublime.
