Chico Open Studios 2026 | Kevin Trivedi at ArtistScape

Open Studios offers a unique opportunity to experience original artwork in the environment where it is created, discover the inspiration behind each painting, and connect directly with the artist.

Two Collections, Two Artistic Journeys

This year’s Open Studios features two distinctive bodies of work that explore transformation, emotion, and the expressive possibilities of painting.

"Looking Inward," a 30"x40" painting by Kevin Trivedi, features Chloe Juniper as the model, symbolizing their creative collaboration. The artwork blends Trivedi’s signature landscapes with Juniper’s graceful presence, reflecting their artistic synergy and deep connection. This piece marks a significant evolution in Trivedi’s work, highlighting the influence of friendship and collaboration on artistic expression.
Looking Inward

Synthesis: States of Becoming is a collection of twelve large-scale figurative paintings exploring identity, transformation, and our relationship with the world around us. Through expressive color, symbolism, and visual storytelling, the series invites viewers to consider the many dimensions of the human experience.

Musical Inertia is an 8 × 10 inch acrylic painting on paper from Kevin Trivedi’s Catalyst series. A gathering of guitars, brass, strings, and percussion rests in a moment of suspended energy, suggesting the tension between stillness and the possibility of sound. Expressive brushwork, layered color, and overlapping forms create a rhythmic composition charged with movement and anticipation.

Catalyst, Kevin’s newest evolving series, explores the relationship between music, movement, energy, and artistic expression. Featuring vibrant colors, dynamic brushwork, and increasingly abstract compositions, these paintings capture the rhythms and emotional resonance of the creative process.

Remembering Bidwell Mansion – A Tribute Show at Art Etc. This Summer

Remembering Bidwell Mansion is more than an art exhibition—it’s a heartfelt tribute to one of Chico’s most iconic landmarks. Hosted at Art Etc. from July 1 through August 29, 2025, this special summer show invites the community to reflect on local heritage through the lens of contemporary art.

Curated by Kevin Trivedi and Caleb Klungtvet , Remembering Bidwell Mansion will feature a small but compelling selection of works by regional artists. Each piece offers a unique interpretation of the mansion’s presence—its historical importance, architectural elegance, and lasting cultural imprint on the Chico community.

This summer, Remembering Bidwell Mansion is part of a wider celebration of the site’s significance. In tandem with this show, the Museum of Northern California Art (monca) will present A Tribute to the Mansion from July 9 to August 25, and the Chico History Museum will display Bidwell Mansion artifacts, prints, and historical materials throughout the month of June. Together, these events create a unified artistic and historical dialogue—a true “Bidwell Mansion summer.”

Whether you’re a long-time resident, a student of local history, or an art lover, Remembering Bidwell Mansion offers a chance to rediscover a shared landmark through fresh creative perspectives. The artworks range in tone and style but are unified in their reverence for Bidwell Mansion’s role in the identity of Chico.

Visit Art Etc. in the Garden Walk Mall at 256 E. 1st St., Chico, CA. The exhibition opens on July 1st and continues through August 29th. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kevin Trivedi Sunday April, 6th

On Sunday, April 6th, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., artist Kevin Trivedi will be creating live at the Chico Women’s Club, located at 592 East 3rd Street, Chico, CA 95928. Attendees will have the opportunity to witness the artistic process firsthand and purchase the completed mural to take home. This event is part of a series organized by @sophisartgarage and @artistscape_fine_art.
